DAY TRIP TO THE GOLD COAST
Although, it was another work trip to Brissie for Steve, it was the start of the school holidays for me so I flew to Brissie to join Steve for the weekend. His conference was on the Thursday Friday of the last week of school. He flew down Wednesday night and I flew in the following night...
Whilst he was off at the conference, I caught up with the kids, He flew home on the Sunday night as he had to go back to work for two days, I stayed on for the next 10 days so that I could have time with the kids whilst Steve spent a few days with his parents before driving back down to Brissie to pick me up....
On the Saturday, Chloe and Dan had booked to go on a Whale watching adventure, so they invited us along for the drive to the Gold Coast with them. Whilst they went Whale Watching for three hours, Steve and I decided we would just check out the Gold Coast....
Apparently, they started to go out , and by the time they got out of the mouth of the river, the sea was too choppy so the cancelled the tour and bought them back in....
We drove back to the Marina to pick them up and then headed out along the Southport Spit to check out what was there before heading to Harbour Town to have lunch and do a bit of shopping....
Harbour Town is massive, and it took us a bit of time to find a car park. Dan was starving, so our first port of call was the food court, where his appetite was satisfied..
After lunch we wandered around and did a little shopping. Chloe scored some new glasses, Steve and Dan bought some new shorts, and then Steve found the Sketches shop so also ended up with a new pair of sneakers. As I was staying down in Brissie, he was happy to leave his purchases with me and pick them up the following week when he came down to get me...
