MORE ADVENTURES ON DAY 4

We had a quiet morning at home this morning, we had a few jobs to do to get ready for our return trip to Brissie with the kids in a couple of days time....
We still had presents to wrap for our Pakkeleg Game for Christmas... I had taken Willow out shopping the previous day to buy some presents for the game so this morning both the children helped me as we wrapped the gifts.

Mas was helping us get the sticky tape

Willow practicing her wrapping skills
A large assortment of gifts for our Danish Christmas Game...
Today we wanted the children to have a rest and a sleep as we wanted to take them out to see the Christmas lights in Rockhampton this evening...
We had an early lunch, gave them their sleep and then by mid afternoon, we got them dressed, Christmas hats and all ready for the afternoon and planned evening events...
Of course we had to have photos before leaving home....

With our Christmas hats on...
Once we got to the Kershaw Gardens we realized that we had no photos with Poppy in them, so of course we needed a few more..
The kids loved the Kershaw Gardens Playground.  Poor Max just didn't know where to start.  He ran full pelt from object to object.  He never stopped all night...  They spent ages in the big dome and on the slides and even had Poppy come and join them..
Then it was off to check out the Hamster Wheel..
There were swings and nature playareas to check out....  they were having a ball...
So nice to see their enthusiasm and energy as they played....
Max loved the logs and stepping stones and had a ball on them...
The kids were not keen to leave the park....so we told them we would take them to MacDonalds for tea and they were happy to come to the car....
It is so lovely to have the kids here,  the cuddles alone make it all worth while...
The kids were keen for a happy meal.... they like getting the toy, although I don't know why as they play with it for a short while and then discard them..
Although it was 7pm we still needed to wait a bit of time for it to get dark enough for the lights to come on.  I had done some research on the best places in Rocky to check out Christmas Lights, and there was one street in particular in Norman Gardens where everyone in the street had their houses lit up so we headed their first.
We did leave the very best to last... There has been a house in Frenchville that we have been visiting for several years now... It is amazing.  the kids love it, especially since they could get up close to Santa...
We had a few other houses on our list to see but by now, Max in particular, was getting tired and just wanted to go to bed... He did however wanted to go back and see the castle lights ( this is what he called the lights display on St Joseph's Cathedral) so we drove home via it so he could get a look but ultimately he just wanted to go home and go to bed.  Another great day with the kids....
