The Coronavirus has changed the world as we know it...
As of the last week of Term 1, school in Qld was cancelled and parents were asked to keep their children home if at all possible...
School was only going to be open for the children of essential workers. This has never happened in my lifetime before.
Parents were told to treat this week as an extra weeks school holidays were teachers and schools prepared a new curriculum to be delivered online as of Week 1 of Term 2.
Sarah decided to give the children some stem activities to do to keep them occupied at home...
Her children love LEGO so she issued them some challenges..
There first challenge was to build something that flies...
Both the children spent a good part of the morning building their flying machines and did an excellent job in following this instuction....

Building their machine that flies.. |
They also got carried away and not only built a machine that flies but then also started building some houses and parks. Lego really helps them to be creative and I love seeing the work they do and listening to their descriptions as they tell me all about it.

Willow's flying machine... |

She was super proud of it..... |

Max told me she had built a sort of helicopter machine... |
 |
He was pretty happy with himself also.. |
Sarah didn't push the school work on the last week of school. She let Willow do a little work and also to do some Maths online... good to set a bit of a routine but the real work will come after the holidays. She is looking for stuff for Max to do also as he will not have daycare either....
They will have a great time of learning differently with their Mum... She is hugely motivated in creating wonderful learning experiences and spaces for them... I truly think they will thrive.
