AN ACHILLES HEEL....

Not sure if it is stress..
Not sure if it is to do with spurs on the heel,
But, the last Wednesday of the last week of term, Steve's foot started playing up..
So sore he could hardly walk on it,  in fact by that evening he could barely put his foot on the ground.
The following morning he couldn't put his foot on the floor so there was no way he was going to make it to work.  He hoped that if he rested it for 24 hours it might come good, but that was never going to happen.

I remembered that we had a set of crutches at home from when Chloe had broken her foot, so I went in search of them...

He still couldn't walk on the Friday but he needed to go back to work as he had quite a few thing he needed to do before the end of term.  As he couldn't drive, I became his chauffeur for the day.    I had made a doctors appointment for him at lunch time to have it all checked out.

I think Steve was happy that this was the only time the doctor could see him, as he was supposed to be at work when his staff member who resigned came to collect his gear and he wouldn't be able to be there for it.....

The doctor was very helpful, even invited me to come in for the consultation.. He organised for Steve to have an ultrasound on his heel but we couldn't do that until the following week.

The surgery was great and even offered with wheel him back out to the car in a wheetchair,,,
Of course I needed a photo of this.
The receptionist who wheeled him out was also one of his part students.

So much for us doing too many physical activities for the holidays.  Steve ended up being on his crutches for a good week before he could finally walk on his foot again.
