MY LAST WEEK AT WORK ALSO.....

Whilst I haven't completely retired, I did take the rest of this year off to coincide with Steve's retirement although I really doubted that I would go back....

With all the changes, it would have been good if I couldn't have also stayed on at work but in all honesty, there are things I can do at home.  Massive decutter ahead as I start to give our place a good clean out....

My last week at work turned into total chaos with Dad getting so sick and passing away.  I spent three weeks of my last month away with Dad and then the funeral, and then packing up.  It was hard to come back for that final week.  I was also not ready for it to be my final week.  Hadn't quite managed to get my head around it all.

Things at work were absolutely crazy as the school was trying to get organised to begin teaching online from the beginnning of Term 2.  It was hard, long days and the week went way too quickly with little chance to say goodbye to anyone....

With social distancing  being a government directive and no gatherings of more than 10 people there was no chance to have a get together with all the aides or staff, so that part of the farewell will come a lot later..

The beautiful aides I work with surprised me with a little cupcake party at lunchtime and presented me with a beautiful bunch of flowers and a big box of roses chocolates.  I will really miss these guys...

Such a lovely bunch of flowers...
Who knows what the future will hold...
Who knows whether this is real retirement for me.
Who knows whether I will be back at work again next year.....
It just seems a really different way of ending my career after 25 years...
