WALKING AROUND THE NEIGHBORHOOD....

As Steve has been hobbling around on crutches, it has been very difficult for him to get out and about.  Two much walking with the crutches is difficult as it hurts under the arms.
At least I am able to get out and go walks around our neighborhood...

I have been enjoying taking off each afternoon to wander around different parts of our neighborhood,  the fresh air and exercise really does improve your mental health.

This week I have decided to choose gratitude and appreciation... to do otherwise could cause you to feel horribly depressed.  Things are tough at the moment but we have so so much to be thankful for...We still live in the most amazing country.

I personally think we live in an amazing and beautiful part of our country.  So today as I ventured out and about I was grateful for this beauty...

Treading the path around the block..
One of the things I was really thankful for this evening was the amazing sunset.  Unfortunately by now the battery in my phone had gone flat so I wasn't able to photograph it to share with Steve, but it did leave me feeling incredibly grateful for such a beautiful end to our day.

These walks are also a chance for me to meditate....
They are times for my to show my appreciation to the Creator of the Universe..
They are a time for me to truly be thankful for all the blessings in my life and there are many...

This week I have been meditating on these verses which are found in Philippians Chapter 4

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

We are certainly living in uncertain times, some could even say fearful times, but God has reminded me not to be anxious, not to worry but with thanksgiving present your requests to God.  This I have been able to do.... I cannot change these uncertain times,  I cannot even plan a future at the moment, but I am confident and I have peace that God is a sovereign God and he is in control.  Therefore I can thank him for this point in history..  this little break in the craziness of life,  this time where we are not in control but have to lean on him and take our refuge in Him...

Today I choose to be thankful....
I am thankful for

1.   A sovereign God who sees the bigger picture...
2.   I am thankful that I don't need all the answers and that I don't need to have control..
3.   That during this crazy time the earth is getting a chance to replenish and rejuvenate.
4.   I am thankful that I have the security of a room over our heads, food on the table.
5.   I am thankful that we live on an island continent and we are able to close our borders.
6.   I am thankful for a Government led by a man of God....
7.   I am thankul for eyes that can see and appreciate the beauty around me and more importantly the vibrant colour palette  of nature.
8.  I am thankful for technology which has allowed us to still keep connected with friends and family.
9.  I am thankful for God's word which is a source on comfort and strength in uncertain times.
10. This Easter Sunday I am thankful for a Risen Saviour.. God's provision to us...
