OFF TO TANNUM SANDS...
For the past 20 years or more we have been heading to Tannum Sands for Easter each year. I think in all that time we have only ever missed going twice. The first time in 2012 when we unexpectedly lost my Mum just before Easter, and then again last year, Easter holidays were all cancelled because of Covid...
We always enjoy these few relaxing days away, and it is usually made even more special because our daughter, her husband and our grandchildren join us....
This year we have managed to come a day earlier... The benefits of being retired... It has made it so much better in that it takes the stress out of having lots of jobs that need to be done quickly...
This year we were all packed the night before, even to the point of having the cars hitched as well..
We arrived at the Caravan Park mid afternoon. A little disappointed in the state of the park this year... It is looking a little tired and run down. There are new managers in at the moment, and where once the grounds were nicely mowed and looking neat and tidy, the grass has not been mowed this year and that really isn't acceptable when they have a full park for Easter...
Not sure what is going on. Still hoping that perhaps they will get in and get a lot of mowing done tomorrow before the hoards arrive....
This year my cousin and her husband are joining us and they have arrived down here the same day as us... Glen has been a huge help today helping Steve set up our common dining area..
It took us most of the afternoon to set up...
We were able to have dinner outdoors...
bought the air fryer down..... makes cooking dinner some much quicker |
Finally all set up.... We spend most of our time out here... |
Nothing like a ice cold drink of lime milk once everything is done |
Glen and Lorraine dropped in after dinner for a cuppa and we spent a couple of hours just chilling out and chatting... Great start to the Easter Break..
Hopefully the Brisbane lock down will end in the morning and the kids will still be able to join us.
