LUNCH DATE WITH STEVE..
May has been an incredibly busy month. We arrived home from Brisbane with a couple of days to spare before we were both away again for a few days. I had our scrap retreat camp and Steve was taking his father fishing...
Before we both went away again, we had a days outing down to the beach. Steve needed to pay a deposit on his new boat motor and I needed to catch up with Ann to finalize the retreat.
It was nice to take this trip to the coast together. After Steve had seen to what he had to do we still had an hour or so before I had to meet up with Ann so I decide to introduce Steve to my favourite little cafe at Yeppoon for a lunch date.
Ocean Brew is a beautiful little seaside location where you can grab great food and spend time with friends. My friend Jannett had introduced me to this little gem last year and I have been there a few times now...
Today we thought we would try something new. It was one of their specials of the day. Curried Chicken Lasagne with salad and chips. I remember that their meals were quite a good size the last time I was here, so once again Steve and I thought we would share a meal. We asked for a second plate when we ordered, and the girl behind the counter, offered to just half the meal and bring it out on another plate for us...

This is a great little cafe for Mums with young families to come, as they have set up a really lovely little play area for children which can be viewed from most of the cafe.
Ocean Brew have a great reputation where their food is concerned with it all being made on the premises. Their sweets are totally divine also...

It didn't take long for our food to arrive and we were pretty impressive with the service. In ordering our one meal, they presented it to us as two, I am sure the only part of the meal that was halved would have been the lasagne, as we both had a good serve of salad and chips. So much so that my meal was still too filling for me to finish.

If you are on the Capricorn Coast, particularly Emu Park and want to eat out, I can highly recommend this little cafe. You won't be disappointed.
I have to say, life is good... we are loving the retirement lifestyle. We are enjoying just being able to wake up each morning and deciding to go and do something different for the day...
