A GIRLS SEWING DAY...
Over the years, I have patch worked Christmas stockings for all of my children and now my grandchildren. My friend Ann has done the same. In fact the it has been her pattern I have used for my youngest daughters stocking, all of my in laws stockings and all the grandchildren's stockings. We have often made our stockings together as we have had grandchildren at a similar time. Our latest grandchild was born last December, and Ann has had two grandchildren added to their family since then also, so we organised a sewing day to try and get our stockings finished before this Christmas..
We also have a couple of other friends who were also keen to join us for a sewing day, so my good friend Jannett offered her home for us all to come to so that we could sew..

Elliot's Christmas stocking is a work in progress. |
Our friend Lesley didn't have sewing to do but she had a commission of some paintings to do for her daughters Cloth Cuts business, so she was happy to come down and do that with us and we were very happy for her company.

We had decided to make it a full day, and Jannett provided a lovely lunch for us all out on her back patio.

Ann was still working on her hand sewing...
Ann still had quite a bit of hand sewing to complete on her stocking... |
Whilst I had finished all my handsewing at home, I just need to put my stocking all together now and complete it...

We have had so much fun getting together like this that we have decided that we will get together each month, so have made the first Monday in the month our special sewing day to get projects completed.
Jannett wants me to show her how to make my famous peg aprons so that is the project we will work on when we next get together.
Meanwhile, before heading back into Rocky we had heard that the Carnival of Joy was visiting down on the Capricorn Coast and would be parked up at Bell Park, so Jannett decided to come with me and we took off to check them out...
