WHERE WOULD WE BE WITHOUT GOOD FRIENDS...

Today we planned on taking the kids on a bush walk at Buderim.  We were going to go to church first and then head for the bush except I woke up with vertigo..

I have only had this once before and then it was only a mild case.  This time it was a full blown case and every time I turned my head to the left hand side I was literally vomiting.  The room was spinning and even when I closed my eyes the room was still spinning...

That pretty much ruined our plans for the day.  As I was having trouble getting out of bed, Steve decided to take the kids for a nice long walk to give me a chance to rest...

On the way home they stopped off at the park just down the road from home and had a play on some of the exercise equipment..

Meanwhile, I sent a message to my good friend Barb to let her know that I was unwell so wouldn't be doing the walk this afternoon.  They were thinking of joining us..

She was quite concerned for me so hopped in her car and headed down to check on me.   Being a nurse she also realized that vertigo can be caused from a lot of different things and was adamant that Steve should take me up to the Emergency Dept at the hospital to be checked out...

She then offered to take the children back home with her whilst I was being checked out and also to give me a chance to have a decent rest.

The kids had an absolute ball with both Barb and John and I am truly blessed to have her as such a dear friend...  We have been best friends now for almost 40 years.

The children went home with Barb at Morning tea time..

After they had their morning tea, the kids were happy to play with all the toys that Barb has at her place for when her grandchildren visit.  They had a wonderful time playing together, and John (her husband) was super impressed with how well they played together and how quiet they were.  (I think they were on their very best behaviour)...

Having a wonderful time playing with new toys..

After they had a good play and a bit to eat for lunch, Barb took them down to the pool for a swim...

They loved this...

The it was time to go back to the house and John helped them make some chocolate chip cookies for afternoon tea.  The kids loved the cooking and were able to bring home the left over biscuits much to their delight...

They were delicious..
Barb and John's town house is two stories and the kids (especially the boys loved sliding down the steps on their bellies.  This is Barb's grandson's favourite thing to do also.  Max had a ball sliding down the stairs and this kept him occupied for quite some time during the afternoon..

Sliding the stairs...
Just before we arrived home, the children spent some time making me a get well card... They did such a great job with it and I was super impressed with their work.  They notes made me feel much loved and appreciated.  I feel so blessed to have such wonderfully loving and incredible grandchildren and friends in my life...

Meanwhile whilst the kids were having a grand old time at John and Barb's, Steve and I were stuck up at the hospital.  We were there for most of the afternoon and because I had a bit of a cough, we had to sit away from everyone else.  I think it was a case of out of sight out of mind as it was a good couple of hours before we saw a doctor...  As I wasn't feel so crash hot, this wasn't improving my health at all as I was still feeling pretty nauseous and weak.

We finally got to see a doctor and he was really lovely.  It turns out that it was nothing serious, but a sinus infection that had caused the vertigo.  I was given some medication to help with the nausea which I needed to take for a few days, as the doctor was sure that the vertigo would last a few days..

He was spot on,  although no where near as bad as the Sunday, the vertigo did last for three or four days, but the medication sure helped to keep it under control...

We arrived back at John and Barb's to pick up the children just after 5.30pm.  We enjoyed a cuppa with them and then packed the kids up to head home... We decided to stop in at Pizza Caper's to pick up a pizza for dinner.  These guys sell our favourite pizzas and they are no longer open in Rocky, so any chance we get whilst we are away, we will indulge...

The kids were so good for us, we had a quick dinner as soon as we got home, and then it was in for a quick bath and into bed.
