Lathams News: IN BRISBANE FOR WILLOW'S BIRTHDAY..

As we needed to come to the Sunny Coast to get some work done on the house, we decided to stay and stick around for Willow's birthday.

She gets that excited about her birthday and talks about it for weeks before hand. She even made some special invitations to invite a couple of her closest friends to join her at the park on the Friday afternoon after her birthday to celebrate.

Sarah loves to put a few decorations up in her room so that when she wakes up, she knows it is her special day. It's a bit of a tradition to hang streamers in the doorway and hang balloons on the ceiling fan...

Steve and I love to see her excitement and she was awake just after 4am the morning of her birthday. Her Mum and Dad held her out until 5.30am before they allowed her to wake the rest of the house so that she could open her presents.

The tradition is that everyone must be present on the bed when she opens her gifts.

I was so impressed with her thoughtfulness and manners as she read all the cards first and was very good with her thank yous...

Max had made Willow a special card... He had written in it himself and sticky taped a candy cane in it for Willow and was super excited to give it to her. In fact he wanted to be the first to give her his card. He was so cute to watch...

And just when she thinks it is all over, Mum and Dad drag out another present... All a little overwhelming... How can there be more????

Willow wanted some chocolate cupcakes to take to school for her class for her birthday so her beautiful Mum set about making two dozen cupcakes for her to take and they looked and tasted amazing...

She obviously had a good day at school and then in the evening her Uncle Dan and Aunty Chloe came for tea with a special gift of a dancing lama for her Birthday and her Aunty Brenda also sent a gift of a dancing bull dog. Willow loved them and so did Max... In fact he really really really wanted a lama too. He was so cute...

Grandma and Grandad drove down for the Sunshine Coast to have dinner with the birthday girl also. It was a lovely night with family. Willow is having a bit of birthday play date with some of her friends from school on Friday.

Some sibling love. It was lovely to see Max so excited for Willow for her birthday and showing her lots of birthday love.

Willow got to cut her cake and then her Mummy took over to cut it up and serve to everyone as dessert...

Willow had picked out a mermaid theme for her birthday and wanted a cake that had a sea theme, so Sarah spent most of the week, using fondant icing to create sea creatures, coral and sea grasses to decorate the cake. She found some mermaid tail lolly pops to use as decorations also...
