NEW YEAR'S EVE...

We all talked about heading out to enjoy New Year's Eve but as Covid Numbers in Queensland were increasing daily decided in the end to just celebrate it at home.  Figured that it was safer to stay away from the crowds and just celebrate at home...

The Bowls Club near where Chloe lived had a pretty impressive fireworks display around 9pm which we viewed from her front verandah before settling down for a game of Articulate.

Chloe and I did up a grazing board to graze on as we celebrated the New Year and then we set up the game...

Our New Year's Eve Grazing board...

Our first game, the girls verses the boys and Chloe, Caitlin and I won.    The boys found that a little hard...
We are wondering what this year will bring... Will it be a repeat of the last couple of years with lock downs and isolation or will we be able to be reunited with family this year...  Celebrating the positives and good even though we have had limitations placed on us...  Thankful for the many benefits also of the past couple of years because even though we have been limited in what we have been able to do, we have still faired a lot better than a lot of other places in the world..

For our second game of Articulate, Dan and Chloe teamed up together whilst Steve, I and Caitlin joined teams...

This was a much closer game with Dan and Chloe taking out an early lead but in the end it was us that pipped them at the post...

The second game couldn't have finished at a better time with the game ending at a couple of minutes to midnight...  We saw in the New Year on Dan and Chloe's back deck along with a tribe of people partying at Chloe's neighbours next door...

Chloe and Caitlin had gone out a little earlier for refreshments and come back with a heap of sparklers which we lit to celebrate the New Year...

Even Mia joined in the New Year Celebrations and remained awake joining in with us... Such a clever little puppy... almost thinks she is human...
Maybe I will do another post this month with some reflections on the past year and some hopes and dreams for the new year ahead...  At the moment I am just having trouble keeping up with day to day life...
