We are now back from our wonderful holiday overseas visiting Pete, Maria and the boys and the process for getting this garage built is now about to get started. Before we can do anything though, we need to get rid of the trees out of the front yard and the existing carport needs to be dismantled.

It didn't take them long to take the trees down and munch them all up. They were done with in a couple of ours. It would have taken Steve and I a couple of days....

It was sad to see it all go... I have loved the lawn and trees down here, they certainly attract the birds. We will be looking out our front door to a concrete slab in the near future...

We also asked to have the roots grinded out as well, as we had to cover this whole area in cement.
Because this whole area was going to be covered in concrete and there was really good couch grass there, Chloe, Sarah and Steve ended up digging it all up and loading into the trailer to transport down to Chloe's place as they wanted to couch down the side of their house... It was back breaking work....

Stage one completed, the next job to do before the concreting is to replace the plumbing which will then be under the concrete also. Steve ended up digging all the trenches to put in the new pipes. Thankfully it wasn't too hard as the ground here is all sand...
