DAY 4 CARAVANING AT AGNES WATERS WITH THE BAPTIST TAB CARAVANING GROUP... 2022...

Friday 12th August, and we are into Day 4 of our camping holiday at Agnes Water.  We had a full day of activies organised for today.  This morning we headed down to 1770 to do a beach walk and walk along their board walk.  It's a great place to go for a walk as it was all even ground.  I walked a good part of the walk until they walked down onto the beach.  I am afraid that my dodgy knee doesn't like walking in the sand, so I just slowly headed back towards the picnic area where the cars were parked.  Because I could walk it at my own pace, I was able to take my time which allowed me to discover some hidden treasures.

Beautiful views of the beach on our walk at 1770...

Whilst most of us did the walk, Mark decided that he wanted to take his dog for a paddle.  He had bought his own paddle but there are always little canoes that are left on the water's edge that you can paddle out in the bay.  It was the perfect day to be out on the water...

A couple of the girls decided to extend their walk also and headed up to the Captain Cook Monument  whilst the others turned back...

Meanwhile whilst the other's were doing this,  I was fun finding the hidden treasures that were hidden along the path and in the trees...

The initial plan was to head back to the Marina at 1770 for afternoon tea but we decided instead to head to the Marina before heading back to the van and enjoy a late morning tea early lunch for some...  They have the most wicked vanilla slice there which receives RAVE reviews and it certainly didn't disappoint us.  In face we were know to go back and indulge again on another day...

The famous 1770 Marina vanilla slice.

The serving size of their vanilla slice was huge, so once again we decided just to share a piece between us.  We weren't the only ones to do this either...

Enjoying a late morning tea at the Maria..

From here we headed back to our van.  A few wanted to have a bit of a kip whilst other's decided to go see the wetlands.  Again we had been their the previous year on our visit to Agnes, so we took the time to have a bit of a rest.

By mid afternoon, most of us had gathered back under the tarp behind our van. It was Desi's birthday so we thought we would throw her a bit of a surprise birthday afternoon tea.  Then itt was time for more games and a chat.  We all joined in for a game of Balderdash and it was a scream.  Some of the answers were amazing and we were all in stitches of laughter.  Good medicine for the soul.

Sharyn had also organised for us all to go to the Tavern at 1770 for dinner tonight.  In the end only half of us ended up going.  The company was good and we enjoyed the evening, although I would have to say that the food at the Agnes Water's Tavern was much better value...

Out for dinner to the Tavern at 1770..

I wasn't particularly hungry so instead or ordering a big meal we ended up ordering a couple of entree's  and then Steve ordered the garlic prawns which he very much enjoyed...

Steve and I shared these entree's

He enjoyed this garlic prawn meal also...
That ended our fourth day at Agnes.  Tomorrow is an early start as we are doing heading up to Bustard Heads lighthouse on a LARC tour.  We are looking forward to this as it has been many years since we have been up to the lighthouse and back then, vandals had got into it and totally destroyed the place.  It has been lovingly restored over the years into the showcase piece it is today...
