DAY 6 CARAVANING AT AGNES WATERS WITH THE BAPTIST TAB CARAVANING GROUP... 2022...

Today we were all heading to church at the little Baptist Church in Agnes Waters.   It is always a great encouragement for the local congregation to have an influx of visitors.  We were particularly looking forward to catching up with a dear friend of ours Betty Merguard.  Des and Betty were such a blessing to us and an amazing support when Steve and I would run the SU Fishing Camps.  They would transport us all up to Jenny Lind Creek and would charge peanuts just so the kids could have life experiences out in nature and learn more about the God they served.

It was so nice to catch up with Betty.  She was so happy to see us and we made sure we grabbed a photo with her..

The service was lovely, the folk here were very friendly and made us feel very welcome.  They hadn't long moved into their new church building, so there was plenty of room for growth for the future.

After the church we were all invited to join them for a cuppa out in their youth area.  Such a lovely morning...

Steve, Sharyn and Eleonore

John, Rod and Geoff.

Carol and Mark...

As it was Desi's birthday today, Sharyn had organised for us all to bring something to share for afternoon tea and we had a bit of a surprise party for her.  It was a really way to spend the afternoon, just chatting and catching up.

All gathered together to surprise Desi for her birthday

Sharyn and Mark organised a little gift for Desi...

We had such a lovely time sitting and chatting that in the end, we all made an impromptu decision to pack up some snags and head down to the waterfront at the Town of 1770 for a BBQ and also catch the sunset.  Best decision ever as we were in for a real treat tonight with the sunset.

The plan was to all meet down on the water front sometime between 5 and 5.30pm.  It was a bit of a rush to pack up some food for dinner and head off.  Kathy and I combined our offerings for the evening and we planned to share our dinner..

We all gathered down at the boardwalk park area at the Town of 1770 for dinner...

Enjoying a great evening down at the water's edge..

Great food and great company...

After dinner we got to  witness the most amazing sunset over the water.  This is unusual for the east coast of Australia and the sun usually sets in the west.

There is certainly going to be a photo overload on this sunset as it truly was something else.  It changed from the start to the finish and we were just in awe of of it's beauty and even more so that we were all sharing it together.  Such a special night...

And just when we think things couldn't get any better, as we were about to leave and turned around the sky was an absolutely amazing RED.  This would have to be the most amazing sunset I have ever witnessed.  So thankful and so blessed.  A part of God's masterpiece...
Forever grateful that we made a snap decision to head to the beach for dinner tonight.  Forever grateful that I got to witness such an amazing sunset and especially because we witnessed all of this on the east coast of Australia...
