DAY 7 CARAVANING AT AGNES WATERS WITH THE BAPTIST TAB CARAVANING GROUP... 2022...

Today was the last full day that we were all be together.  Those that were staying in the cabins were all due to book out tomorrow where those of us in our caravans had another three days or so left before we took off.

The boys had all been talking about going 4WD down through Deepwater National Park.  Whilst the boys planned to do this, the girls decided to head back to 1770 Getaway Cafe for morning tea and then hit the shops.

The boys ended up taking three cars, Rods, John Ross's and our car.  They left before us girls.

We then all car pooled and heading for our morning out.

The girls go out for morning tea...
Some of the girls tried the Getaway 1770 vanilla slice....

My morning tea and my goodness it was Yum....

Would totally order this again...

We certainly all indulged in the goodies that were made on site at Getaway Cafe.  We also enjoyed visiting this lovely little cafe when we were holidaying here the previous year.

After our morning tea, we all headed off to the local Hardware Store.  Steve would have been so proud of me, as I am not a big visitor to Bunnings when he goes...  The girls were looking for some plants and a couple of things for their vans...

The girls visit the Hardware Store...

From here we went to check out one of the home decor stores just out along the highway coming into Agnes.  We had heard good reports about the place and we weren't disappointed in what they offered.  They had some absolutely gorgeous things for decorating your home.  I could have been very tempted except we are totally trying to downsize so I didn't need to buy anything else...

I did however appreciate their beauty and totally enjoyed the eye candy.  Took lots of photos as that is the way I collect souvenirs these days.  I can look at the pictures and appreciate them but I don't have to care for them or clean them.  Win Win all round...

From hear we headed back into town and hit the shops there before enjoying lunch at one of the little cafes.

Meanwhile the boys were having an awesome time driving down dirt tracks, checking out beaches and do the things that boys enjoy doing..

Their goal today was to explore the three camping areas in Deepwater National Park, stopping at the Flat Rock camping area first....

Deepwater National Park is famous for it's secluded and quiet beaches.  Both camping areas have walking tracks down to Deepwater Beach .  The views from the top of the walking track at Middle Rock are stunning with views of the ocean, headland and all the rocks.  Down on the beach you will be lucky to see another soul.  The rocks pool provide lots of calm water holes to cool off in on a hot day.   They are also a great area for kids to play in and search for different sea life.

It is not advised to swim in the ocean here due to the rips, and marine stingers in the warmer months and the beach here is not patrolled.  However, the beach goes on forever, so is a great place to enjoy long walks north or south depending on where you camp.  Wreck Rock and Flat Rock also have a day use area if you are not camping, so you can still go down and enjoy the beach.

Flat Rock is a day use area with a small parking area behind the dunes and a short walking track down to the beach.  The boys headed down onto the beach to check it out.  It was pretty secluded the day they were there...

Letting their tyres down to hit the sandy track...

Wreck Point camping area is the most popular of the two camping areas and is probably the most popular because of the ease of any vehicle being able to get in there.  It is also far bigger than Middle Rock and has a lot more camping spots.  It also has facilities which include drop toilets, non potable water and an outdoor cold shower, so you don't need to be quite as self sufficient as you would need to be if you were camping at Middle Rock.

Each camp site here also has park benches with a table, firepits and non potable water and all sites appear to be fairly level.  Caravans are also able to set up in here.

There is also a great walking track to the beach that only takes a couple of minutes to get down to the ocean.

Great beach as far as the eye can see..

Middle Rock camping area  would be a great camping site if you are self sufficient, although not ideal if towing a caravan as you really need 4WD to get in there.  It is a much smaller camping area with only six sites, that are rather close together.

Mateship...

As it was the last night that we would all be together, we headed out for dinner once again to the Agnes Water Tavern.  This is a great hotel... Meals are beautiful and very reasonably priced.  Tomorrow four of the couples leave us so it was nice to all spend our last evening together.

Very yummy deserts
It's been a great time camping with these guys.  It's been great to cement friendships and make new ones.  Looking forward to doing it again with them all too.
