JUST SOME RANDOM STUFF

It has been crazy busy here the last couple of weeks. We have Bookfair at school this week, so last week I was busy putting this together. The theme this year for Bookfair was "Blizzard - Chill out with a good Book". I enjoyed putting the display together. I really wish I had more time to do them. This involved sticking around after school for the week, just to get something done. The kids appreciate it - lots of lovely comments today.I've enjoyed a few girls outings lately, out for coffee, out for dinner, out to the movies. So blessed to have good girlfriends, and work collegues. Took these photos the afternoon we went out for Coffee.
Love the way these coffees and hot chocolates arrived on our table. Just the little touches like this made for a lovely afternoon out.

This would be one of my most favourite places to visit at the moment. The eye candy is wonderful and there are links to all sorts of wonderful blogs and tutorials. Just check out some of the things that have caught my eye.
Check out the shoes, and those Mother's Day cards - aren't they just divine. How about this for some party inspiration - I could spend hours just checking out this site.
Got some great ideas from here too - I have been looking for some simple crafts to do as gifts, in this year of making all my gifts. I just wish that I had way more time to play play play.

I found a couple of my old folders and found a heap of stories and quotes that I have collected over the years. Thought I would share a couple with you.

GOD'S EMBROIDERY
When I was a little girl, my mother used to embroider a great deal. I would sit at her knee and look up from the floor and ask what she was doing. She informed me that she was embroidering. I told her that it looked like a mess from where I was. As from the underside I watcher her work within the boundaries of the little round hoop that she held in her hands. I complained to her that it sure looked messy from where I sat.

She would smile at me, look down and gently say, "My dear, you go about your playing for a while, and when I am finished with my embroidering, I will put you on my knee and let you see it from my side."

I would wonder why she was using some dark threads along with the bright ones and why thye seemed so jumbled from my view. A few minutes would pass and ten I would hear Mother's voice say, "Dear, come and sit on my knee". This I did only to be surprised and thrilled to see a beautiful flower or a sunset. I could not beleive it, becuase from underneath it looked so messy.

Then Mother would say to me. "My dear, from underneath it did look messy and jumbled, but you did not relaize that there was a pre-dawn plan on the top. It was a design I was only following it. Now look at it from my side and you will see what I was doing.

Many times through the years I have looked up to my Heavenly Father and said "Father, what are you ding?"

He has answered, "I am embroidering your life."

I say, "But it looks like a mess to me. It seems so jumbled. The threads seem s dark. Why can't they all be bright?"

The Father seems to tell me, "My chld, you go about your business of doing My business, and one day I will bring you to Heaven and put you on My knee and you will see the plan frm my side. '

I also found this old email that my previous boss sent me. Thought this was worth sharing too.

CORPORATE ROWING

A Japanese company and an American company decided to have a canoe race on the Missouri river. Both teams practiced hard and long to reach their peak performance before the race. On the big day the Japanese won by a mile.

Afterwards, the American team became very discouraged and morally depressed. The American management decided hat the reason for the crushing defeat had to be found.

A "Measurement Team" made up of senior management was formed. They would investigate and recommend appropriate action. Their conclusion was that the Japanese had 8 people steering, So American management hire a consulting company and paid them incredible amounts of money. It advised that too many people were steering the boat and not enough people were rowing. To prevent loosing to the Japanese again next year, the rowing team's management structure was totally reorganised to 4 steering supervisors, 3 area steering supintendants, and 1 assistant superintendent steering manager. They also implemented a new performance system that would give the 1 person rowing the boat greater incentive to work together. It was called the "Rowing Team Quality First Program." with meetings, dinners, and free pens for the rower.

"We must give the rower empowerment and enrichements through the quality program"

The next year the Japanese won by 2 miles. Humiliated, the American management declared the rowers redundant, halted development of a new canoe, sold the paddles, and canceled all capital investments for new equipment. Then they gave a High Performance Award to the steering managers and distributed the money saved as bonuses to the senior executives.

Well it is time for me to turn in. Will share a couple of layouts I have completed once I get a chance to take a couple of photos of them. Hope you all have a great week.
