Beautiful Day spent at Bowral
This is going to be a short post tonight, Mainly photos. We are having the most amazing time. Haven't had a chance to post the photos from the weekend and already have more from today, so have decided to do a short post on our adventures from the weekend.
We caught up with my cousin and her husband in Camden ( her husband was also our best man) It is more than 10 years since we have seen them, but it just seemed like yesterday after spending some time in their company.
We had a lovely day on Saturday... Bruce took us for a drive up to Bowral. We visited Corbett Gardens... Just an amazing feast of colour.
I was amazed that tulips come in so many different colours and sizes. They looked amazing - so bright. Beginning to think that perhaps tulips are becoming my favourite flowers.
After having a leisurely stroll through Corbett Gardens, we had a cuppa at Gloria Jeans beforing heading off to explore the area more. Bruce then took us to the Don Bradman Muesem, Just loved the Cricket Pitch - so English. Beautifully green, lovely picket fence, and a game of cricket was in progress.
After a wander around here, we headed off to Milton Park, - Bruce and Bev lived in one of the cottages here when they first moved to Sydney 25 years ago - it has now been sold and become a beautiful country Hotel. The grounds were beautiful, we spent an hour or more just roaming through the grounds.I fell in love with this place. Reminded me of a beautiful English country garden. Lots of lovely hedges, wildflowers, manicured lawns, mazes. I could have spent all afternoon here.
After we left here we went in search of Charlie Youngs place. Charlie was quite a well known person from my old home town. He also happens to be the grandfather of a close friend of ours. So Charlie Cribb, these photos are for you.
Whilst we were in this area, Bruce decided to take us to one of the oldest Golf Clubs in the area at Craigieburn. The building was beautiful - and set in beautiful grounds.
It is hard to beleive that all this beauty is just an hour south of Sydney. There is no way you feel like you are in a capital city. I could easily live in this beautiful area.
Heaps more photos to share but will leave that till another day.
