Girls Weekend Away

I've just come back from a great weekend away with the girls from church. Once a year we take off for a weekend down at the coast. It's a great time to enjoy each others company, plan for the year ahead, and generally just connect with each other. There are always plenty of laughs, always food involved, and also time to share with each other on a much deeper level.

Just some snap shots of our time together.
Us girls went for a nice walk around the marina yesterday afternoon before heading into Yeppoon for dinner. Thought our men folk would be impressed that we actually checked out all the boats. It was a lovely time of the afternoon.
The girls all out for dinner.

We came home and had a bit of fun doing this. We were each given a box of recyclable goods and were given a task to complete. Here are the results.
These guys had to create a creation to wear to the Logies. They did an excellent job, red carpet and all. Love Love Love their earrings.
Our group had a create a fairytale character. We chose Tinkerbell from Peter Pan. ( Of course we were the winners as well. Sarah looked amazing - pretty sure she enjoyed acting the part too.
This group had to create an outfit to wear at a Resort.. We were given half an hour to complete our task, an extra 5 minutes to do the write up and then the girls had to parade their creations with a vote to be taken to pick the winner.
Lots of laughter and lots of fun.....

There were early morning classes in here
while some girls tackled an early morning aerobics workout, some others went for walks along the beach. The younger girls enjoyed the jumping pillow.

There was plenty of this done
Lots of sitting around chatting over a cuppa and plenty of special treats ( overload of chocolate)

Still others of us sat around and did this
Whilst others of us, did crafts, sewing and beading. A few of the girls even managed to fit in an afternoon nanna nap.

This morning we had a time of sharing, Sandra asked each of us to share a special verse with each other and and to share why that particular verse was important to us. This was a huge encouragement to me personally. We were all given a little box with everyone's favourite verse in it to keep.

It really was a great weekend, we were also able to plan the ministries that the ladies would like to be involved in this year.

Will try to remember to share some of these special verses in the next post. Right now I think it is about time to call it quits for the night.
