Scrap Retreat over for another year.
We have just had our 8th Annual Scrapbooking Retreat and it was our largest yet, with 24 Campers and a couple of day campers. It was a great weekend full of fun, and laughs and dressing up and paper and more paper, and believe it or not we even got to get a few layouts done. What a mess we all created but the creativity was awesome. I think a weekend away like this really introduces lots of us to different styles and ideas. We are now busy planning our next years retreat. Lots of photos to share.
Our theme this year was "Who Am I" and the ladies really excelled themselves with their costumes. It was all so impressive and we took loads of photos. We celebrated Robyn's birthday and Jannett's wedding anniversary on Scrap Camp this year. So we celebrated it with Birthday Cake for dinner on Friday night.
The girls unpacked and these girls were surprised to find this little box of chocolates on their pillows.
These amazing ladies catered for us once again. They have been freely giving up their weekends now to help cater for our retreat for years now, and honestly we could not do this without them. Not only do they excell in the meal department, but they also do all the preparing and cleaning up afterwards. They totally spoil our girls rotten, and bless us in so many ways. We could never thank them enough for all they do for us. They are so appreciated. Meal times see us all in the make shift dining room together -
We then spent the morning scrapping away and creating this mess.
We always do a photo shoot just after lunch on the Saturday. This year we headed down to the Cause Way to take our photos.
Saturday after the Photo shoot, quite a few carloads of us headed for Yeppoon for some retail therapy. You know that every scrapper needs to stock up on supplies, especially when they are away on a scrap retreat. I am sure the scrapbooking shop loved us too as we queued up to burn our plastic.
and then after we got back we did some more of this.
Saturday night dinner is always a grand affair with everyone coming to dinner in costume.
Check out some of our amazing guests that joined us for dinner this year.
Introducing
Dianne by day and Princess Dianna by night.
Jannett by day and Annie Oakley by night - we were too scarced to misbehave when she was around.
Katrina by day and Suzie Quatro by night..... she looked amazing.
Barb by day and there wasn't much difference at night as Countess Colourful emerged. She had a purple and red thing going all weekend, but she looked sensational.
Janet by day and Maid Marion by night
She was joined for this photo by Countess Colourful and Lady in Red (Noeline)
A Family affair, with Miss Congeniality (Katie) Mary Poppins (Ann) and Legally Brunette (Toni)
It was a bit of a treat to have Warney present, even though he spent most of the night texting or chatting to Liz Hurley.
Even Captain Jack Sparrow (Elisha) managed to join us for the evening,
Abi (Lesley) from NCIS also managed to track us down.
and we had a second Mary Poppins ( with her carpet bag and Spoonful of sugar) join us with her very Get Smart friend Agent 99 (Irene) along on a mission.
Red Riding Hood (Sally) also popped in for a visit but had trouble finding Grandma.
Mary our resident firefighter also joined us.
A very different Rolf Harris made an appearance
Caroline turned into a Star Wars Jedhi by night.
These guys reckoned they were "The Three Sisters" - quite original, with the absense of a costume.
Three quesses who I turned into - a mad scientist, who claimed there was a cup and a half of full cream milk in every Cabury's Dairy Milk Chocolate.
And of course we had to have another group photo taken with everyone in costume.
I didn't get to do much scrapbooking until late Saturday afternoon, but had a bit of a late night Saturday and a good scrap on Sunday morning and managed to finishe 4 double layouts and two single pages. Will share them next post, after I get to photograph them. Am on a bit of a roll at the moment, so if I can manage to tidy my scrap desk, I am going to get in and get a couple more done.
