A Weekend Away

I had a great weekend away.
Caught one of these all the way to BrisbaneWhere I got to catch up with my amazing kids. We never stopped all weekend.
Saturday morning we had an early start, had to meet my son for breakfast here
Quite a relaxing morning and breakfast was Good. I had a Canadian breakfast which included Pancakes and Maple Syrup with my bacon and eggs. Sarah and I left Pete to head to the shops where she bought this.
We headed back to Sarahs around lunch time to meet up with Pete and his baby. This is the first chance I have had to meet this gorgeous girl
She is just the cutest little dog, Such a people pleaser and loves to be around you. I could have easily taken her home with me. She ended up coming for the drive up to Toowoomba with us.
We left Sarah's to head for Toowoomba where we were going to surprise our other sister who was celebrating her 50th Birthday. Her family had organised a surprise 50th Birthday party for her. We had such a good night- she was totally surprised.
It was good for these guys to get together. They have always had a heap of fun growing up together.

It was great to catch up with all the cousins and see some that we hadn't seen for years.

It was cake cutting time. My niece did an amazing job with my sister's birthday cake. This is it.
After cutting her cake,
we had some sister photos taken
and then some more
And then Jude presented Lea with the "50" as she was the next to reach that milestone.
Don't think she was too impressed but it sure cracked the rest of us up.

It was good to get some photos taken with the kids too. Not often I get a photo taken with Pete. Love this one.

Sarah and Pete

After the party we headed back to my sisters place with quite a few of the relatives and friends.
We had a pretty late night sitting up and chatting. Lea and I both stayed over at Jude's place so that we could spend some time with her, and the kids headed back to my niece's place where the cousins all got together.

The party continued on again on Sunday morning where we all got together again for Breakfast. It was also my great nephew's birthday so we had more celebrating to do.

We had one final photo taken together
on Sunday morning before we headed back to Brisbane. We left Toowoomba just before lunch, arriving back in Brissie around 1.30pm. Just enough time to see my sister Lea head back to the Sunshine Coast, and then for Sarah and I to head out to the DFO on my way to the airport where we did a little more shopping before I had to board another one of these
to head home.

It was a great weekend. It is not often we have the chance to get together as sisters, so it was pretty special. We definately need to do something about organising a few more.

Another busy week ahead as we get ready for our annual scrap retreat this is being held this weekend. I am feeling pretty disorganised, still have no ideas what photos I will scrap.
Busy at work also trying to plan a PD day for next term.

After such a great weekend, I do feel so incredibly blessed and thankful for the following.

1. Great sisters - although we are very different, we really love and care for each other.
2. Wonderful extended families - loving cousins, and nieces and nephews, and brother in laws etc etc. How blessed we have been in our lives to have such amazing people to share it with.
3. Awesome kids, who enjoy spending time with us and enjoy our company.
4. Planes and how quickly they can get you from one end of the state to another.
5. Eating out - how fortunate we are that we can afford to do this some times. We seemed to have done quite a bit of that this past weekend.
6. Being able to have wonderful discussions together about our faith.
7. The example of Jesus - his love and compassion for those that are lost.
8. God's word - and how we can live by it daily.
9. Jobs that we enjoy and find challenging.
10. Mod cons that help make our lives easier -
