He's been Published

This week it's official.
Earlier this year he wrote a short story and entered it into the Brisbane City Council's, short story competition, and was one of the 20 picked to contribute his story to their book this year. Quite a presitigious award which netted him a win of $1000 plus a weekend writing course with writers, editors and publishers. It was an experience he enjoyed.

On Wednesday the book was officially launched at Brisbane City Hall

The Lord Mayor of Brisbane put on a special morning tea for them as part of the book launch.
He got to invite these two guests to celebrate with him.Then there were the official photos.

To say we are proud of him is a bit of an understatement....
Peter has always had a gift of creative writing. In fact his Senior English teacher would corner me every time I would go to school to parent teacher interviews with any of our kids, and she would always make a point of telling me that Pete should be writing, not doing Engineering. It is his hobby.... who knows where it will take him.

I'm having another weekend away with the girls.... the fishermen's wifes are having a weekend away... I'm afraid that shopping and eating out are more in keeping when we go away together. We're not like the guys who are happy to sit out in a boat all day and then spend half the night carving up smelly fish. Photos to follow soon.
