Another Girls weekend away
I'm beginning to forget what home looks like after four consecutive weekends away.
This weekend I joined the other fishermen's wives for a girls weekend at the beach doing what fishermen's wives do best.... shopping for bargains.... enjoying fine dining....
We spent the weekend here...
We had one of these parked right outside our unit, so of course we had to take photos to show our men that we were also in the fishing mood....
Our Unit was lovely. We were on the ground level and walked right out onto the pool area.
The last time I stayed here was for my 50th Birthday weekend.... the Units have all been done up since then.
We spent Saturday morning and part of the afternoon shopping around Yeppoon. Came home and had a rest Saturday afternoon. Totally chilled out. A lovely relaxing time.
Saturday night we headed out for dinner to the most amazing little Thai Restaurant on the beach front at Yeppoon.
The food was amazing. Definately will be going back there again.
The weather was perfect, a pleasant chill in the air, not too hot and not too cool.
Once we got back to our Unit, we sat out under the stars enjoying a bit of this.
The following morning we were up bright and early, had breakfast and then headed into the Sunday morning markets at Yeppoon, where we filled the back of our car with lots of fresh fruit and produce
We headed back to our Unit for morning tea. We had a late checkout, and sat and had a coffee and enjoyed the lovely warm sun.
We left at lunch time and headed down towards Emu Park. For years I have driven up and down the Capricorn Coast and not thought too much about its beauty. It took our big holiday last year for me to realize just what a beautiful piece of paradise this area of the coast really is. The day was perfect, the view was awesome as we drove along the coastline.
We went and checked out the Singing Ship- unfortunately it wasn't singing too much whilst we were there.
We had fish and chips in the park there, had a little drive around Zilzie and Emu Park before heading towards home. We got home mid afternoon.
It's a good week this week. A short week. We have our show holiday on Wednesday, and then another long weekend for the Queens Birthday. Chloe has to work the Show holiday, but that is so they can take the Friday off and make it an especially long weekend. She is off to Sydney to climb the Harbour Bridge. Hoping she brings photos home for me to share.
Lots of things to be thankful for this weekend.
1. I've thankful for the beautiful area of Queensland we live in.
2. Blue blue skies and calm oceans.
3. Girlfriends
4. Eating out
5. Freshly picked juicy mandarins.
6. Seeing beautiful things all around me.
7. Nanna naps because we all need them
8. Music
9. Lettng go and letting God
10. Secret sisters who encourage and support.
Until next time.
