What a year 2012 was..... for us it was a year that held much loss and sadness......
but it ended with much joy and gladness...
So I must admit that this next picture perfectly expresses how I felt about 2012
|
It was nice to see 2012 washed away and to see the arrival 2013. Here's hoping it holds much promise of good days ahead. |
This year started in the best way possible. Steve and I went for a drive down to the beach front at Mooloolabah. it was pretty crowded so we drove around to the Spit... It was a beautiful evening with a lovely cool gentle breeze so we decided to go for a walk along the stone wall at the entrance of the Mooloolabah river....
|
Our walk out to the mouth of the Moollolabah river at 11.30pm |
It was beautiful... we watched a heap of boats go out through the mouth of the river to position themselves to best see the Midnight fireworks display, and since by this stage it was only 15 minutes until midnight we decided to go sit out there and watch this display
|
Midnight fireworks |
|
We watched it all along the coast. |
The good part about where we were sitting was that we not only saw the fireworks at Mooloolabah but we managed to see them along the coast line down as far as Alexandra Headlands... but the best part was that we weren't in a crowd it was just us the two of us enjoying it together...
We got home at about 12.45am. The only downside was that once the fireworks were over, everyone had the same idea about clearing out so we did get caught in a bit of traffic.
Today we got to catch up with Sarah and our beautiful grand daughter.
|
The beautiful Willow at six and a half weeks... |
|
So alert and such a beautiful age.... |
She came up for the day with her two sister in laws, so we all went out for lunch with my Dad and Sister as well down to Mooloolabah, and then whilst the girls went swimming Steve and I got to babysit Willow for a few hours....
|
She has grown so much in the past three weeks since I have seen her. |
She is so alert now.... really taking notice of you and the smiles..... they bring tears to our eyes....
|
She has captivated her Poppy..... and had lots of smiles for him.... |
|
Poppy stealing lots of smiles and cuddles. |
This was also Steve's chance to get lots of cuddles from Willow. He only managed to get down for a few days after she was born.... She literally did bring tears to his eyes and she sat there looking at him and giving him the most wonderful smiles.... It is all a little overwhelming....
Dad was pretty chuffed to get lots of smiles from her as well.
|
Cuddles from her great grand father..... |
Whilst the girls were smiling, Steve and I took Willow to catch up with my good friend Barb....
Her grand daughter is just over 12 months old and this was the first chance that we have had to meet her too.....
She was visiting her sister who lives at Cotton Tree and we met up there. It was a beautiful afternoon. Her sister has the most amazing view from her Unit.... Can you just imagine waking up to this each and every day....
|
The view from her kitchen.... |
What a start to the year.... the most beautiful weather... a perfect day.... lovely blue skies and cool gentle sea breezes...
|
Lovely watching the holiday makes enjoying our beautiful Sunshine Coast.... |
We made sure that we got photos of us together with our grand daughters. It is not often that we get together and have both our grand daughters with us.....
|
Bronte sharing a story with Willow |
|
Two grandma's with their gorgeous grand daughters...... |
|
A lovely afternoon - feeding Willow... | |
|
Nan Nan....she is my new friend |
Steve sharing the view with Willow... It was so nice to sit out on the balcony and enjoy the beautiful views and sea breezes...
|
What a view.... |
We headed home somewhere around 4pm....
We passed the girls coming home from the beach..
Whilst Sarah had a shower... Steve sat on the couch and almost dosed off with Willow...
|
So comfortable with Poppy... |
I think Steve found it hard to surrender the little darling...
We really didn't want to see them go home...
We had a lovely day...
A beautiful beautiful start to this new year....
