THOMAS HEALY DRIVE
Well I might have missed the Christmas Lights at home, but we arrived into Bundy around 7.30pm on Friday night, and we suggested that maybe we could take Steve's Mum to see a few Christmas Lights. She jumped at the chance.... We took her and her sister last year when we were in Bundaberg, so Mum was very keen to go again. We checked out the local paper to see if we could find a Christmas Lights Map. We knew the best lights we had seen last year when we were in town, were a street over East Bundaberg where every resident in the street had decorated their home with Christmas lights, so this was where we wanted to head as we knew we didn't have time to drive all around town.
Surprisingly Thomas Healy Drive was not on the map at all.... Obviously they had not entered into the competition, but they were by far the best....
We got the old Navman out and set off to see the lights...
As we were driving along FE Walker Street we had a good view of the moon rising. Steve's mum was really impressed as she had not seen it as large or as beautiful as it was tonight. In fact we didn't take the turn off to go see the lights straight away, we drove further down FE Walker Street until we found a spot where we could pull off the road and just watch and admire it as it rose in the night sky.
The rising moon - it really was quite spectacular. |
We weren't disappointed...
Although I have to say it wasn't quite as good as last year as there were about four or five houses this year that didn't participate. It was still quite beautiful and we certainly enjoyed the evening walk as we walked up and down the street...
Massive photo share of the 2013 Christmas Lights...
Well Bundaberg Version anyway.
This next place was particularly beautiful and well done...
One of my favourite Christmas traditions is the Christmas Light viewing...
How bad are we that we went trampling over people's lawns to get this photo...
Check out this Hot Rod Santa...
Santa lives life on the edge at this place...
The accross the road, there was a beautiful display dipicting the real reason for Christmas.
The birth of Jesus our Saviour
Santa was everywhere in this street.
We enjoyed the walk around this neighbourhood.
This house was really quite spectacular with its synchronized lighting.... Probably one of the best.
The above lights were beautiful, constantly changing colour... The picture below is the same lights, just going through the colour
Absolutely loved this start.
It is beginning to feel like Christmas...
Tomorrow we hit the shops...
As much as I am not looking forward to it at this time of the year, it has to be done...
Three more sleeps until Christmas ..
And six more sleeps until Pete moves overseas to live..
