Everytime we have a big flood here, we are cut off from the rest of the state for sometimes up to three weeks or so...
The road has been raised once before back in the late 80's but we have had three major floods since then that have isolated us, so the super new highway is going through and hopefully we will never be cut off again....
Mind you, I should never say never, I remember thinking that our house in Bundy was safe from any flood also, and then a couple of years ago, we actually had water through some parts of our home built on a hill.
Still I took photos of the new highway on the weekend for the future....
The it kind of swings across the highway onto the other side and the hammering of the pylons has begin on this side of the road now...
