HERE IS HOPING FOR A BETTER DAY TODAY....

Well the fishing wasn't much good yesterday....
Here is hoping it is a lot better today....
We have to head home this afternoon but decided to give the fishing one last chance again in the morning....
We had a bit of a sleepin  this  morning...
The sun was shining, so it was a case of getting up and getting some washing done and on the line in hte hope that it would be dry and we could get it in before we took off up the river again....

Heading out again...
At least today was a bit better than yesterday....
At least we got bites today....
Not many fish,  but a lot of bites.....
And we did have a couple of exciting moments...
When Steve caught a stingray....
He caught a couple in fact, but one got away...
The other he had to play and play to get it in...
It has swallowed his hook, and the only way he could free it and  let it go was to bring it in and get rid of the hook out of his mouth....
That stingray is really playing around...
Bringing it in closer...
That old stingray was a real fighter...
Steve would reel him in and off he would take again..
I thought a couple of times that Steve's rod might even break,  there was that much tension on it.
Getting it up close to the boat....
Still got to get him into the boat and get the hook out of him....

Even though it wasn't something we weren't going to keep,  it was still fun watching the struggle and then him landing it.
I am pretty sure the guy in the boat just up from us caught him again too a little after we let him go.  He landed a stingray as well....

Steve did manage to catch a few whiting... Probably enough for a feed for a couple of people...
Me, no such luck....
At least today I got lots of nibbles, which was a lot better than yesterday..
The only fish I managed to catch today was this one..
Dirty old toad fish....
He ended up back in the water also,  but Steve did have to take a photo of it for me, just to show that I did catch a rotten fish...
Only thing I caught all day was a rotten toad fish......
rotten toad fish.... he swallowed the hook as well...
Rescuing my hook from so I could fish again...
Steve caught a couple of other strange fish also...
This one was really slimy and so slim and thin...
Not sure what it is...
He is almost like a ribbon...
Not sure what this one is either.... some of them, he just let go,,,
Those toad fish were a bit of a pain...
I don't know how many hooks and sinkers we lost because they would just chewed through the line.  Steve sent a good part of the day, re hooking our lines...  not so much fun for him,  but I am still sure hje enjoyed being out on the water.....
tying knots...
Lloyd would be proud of him... Trimming back the loose line.
Enjoying being out on the water...
it started well, but not many more after that...
Just as the tide turned,  we started to get quite a few bites,   we really needed to get back home as we still had to pack and then head home.  Once those fish starting biting he wasn't keen to move...
However we say this is the distance and this soon put an end to our lovely day out...
It was massive....
The rain is a coming....
Unfortunately we didn't make it home in time.. We got drenched.
We even hit a sandbank on our way home.
Doesn't pay to follow something if they are a little short of the mark.
They completely led us up the garden path.
