OUTBACK QLD TRIP - DAY 10 - TOOWOOMBA - PICNIC POINT.

We were later getting here than we had originally planned so we really didn't have time to go looking at the gardens here.  We were pretty thirsty and hungry by the time we arrived, so we just had a good look at the lookout and then had lunch at the restaurant there.  The view from the restaurant was magnificent.  You just looked out over the valley....

Views from Picnic Point in Toowoomba

It really was a perfect day to see the view.   The sky was blue and the air was clear and you really could see right down into the valley.  I have been up here before and it was all quite hazy and the view was no where near as good as it was today.
Loved all the grass sticks growing around here.  They certainly added to the views..

Ian enjoying the views...
Unfortunately because time was getting on and Ian and Kathy needed to get back to Brisbane this afternoon we really didn't have any time to do any real exploring.  There really is a lot to see up here, but that will have to be left for another time.
We enjoyed a really lovely lunch here...
Our lunch stop today..
Lovely little restaurant with awesome views..
The view out the window from our table..
Kathy with the view behind her...
We had a pretty light lunch as we wanted something quick so that the Forwards could get going so we went with gourmet sandwiches and a hot drink...

It was time to leave and drop Ian and Kathy back to their van.  They were already leaving a couple of hours later than they had planned.  We have had the best time with them, and it was really sad to watch them drive off as they headed home...
The Forwards heading home...
We followed them back to our Caravan Park...
It was a little sad to come home and find our van all on it's lonesome...

A night on our own...
We were feeling pretty tired and had it as we had been out in the sun all day walking around looking at all the beautiful gardens, so Steve and I both had a little rest before we headed off to visit my sister and her family....
It was nice to have a little down time and have a rest.  We really have been on the go all week,  exhausting but totally enjoyable.
Before going to Jude's we did manage a walk around the lagoon which was situated at the back of our Caravan Park.

The lagoon and walking track behind our Caravan Park...
We ended our stay in Toowoomba by visiting my sister and having dinner with her and her family.  My nieces and one of my nephews were all there so it was really lovely to catch up with them all.  We don't often get to see them, so to catch up on all their news and we did receive some great news in that we have another great nephew of Niece due in the first quarter of next year... It was a wonderful night and we headed home a little after 9.30am as we wanted to get away by 9am the following morning so as to be in Brissie by lunch time.

So many highlights of my day today...
1.  God's creation
2. Flowers - their colours, textures, smells, everything about them...
3. Friendships - what a wonderful holiday we have had with Ian and Kathy
4. Memories - going back to USQ, bought back lots of wonderful Memories..
5.  Family - catching up with those you love and having a wonderful time.
