WHALE WATCHING AT HERVEY BAY.......

On the Thursday we decided to all go out whale watching.  Steve and I had been once previously in Jervis Bay near Nowra in New South Wales, and I must admit that was pretty spectacular, but Sarah and the children had never been, and also Ian and Kathy had never been.   Ian and Kathy's daughter Linda and her family arrived about an hour and a half before we were due to go out, so they decided to tag along with us also, if there were still vacancies on the boat.  There was and they were able to join us....

When we got down to the harbour, a lot of the other tours had been cancelled for the day because of the impending bad weather,  so I was a little nervous about us going out as I have suffered from sea sickness in the past and didn't want that to happen again.  All good, it was slightly choppy a couple of times but  we had a brilliant afternoon and got to see some awesome whale displays...  Possibly not quite as good as when we were in Nowra but pretty good all the same....

 It was the perfect day...
Not a cloud in the sky,  the complete opposite to the last time we went out whale watching when it was really overcast, so it was nice to actually get to experience seeing them in the sunshine rather than an overcast wet day.

First whale sighting... not doing a lot but exciting to know we were going to see some.....

I get to share the experience with Maxie from a safer distance...

We were treated to some wonderful wonderful displays by the whales....
Super exciting for all of us but especially the children...
What a great afternoon we had too, and I am so glad that our tour operators didn't cancel the trip out because the whether really wasn't that bad at all, and the experience was awesome....

 Time to head home....
Best day out....
This has been a great holiday..
In fact we have been so blessed with holidays this year....
Sarah and the children have managed to come away with us for a week or more each lot of school holidays we have had this year....
That makes them all the more special, we love spending time with them all...
