DAY 5 – SUNDAY 9TH DECEMBER, 2018.

Once again we didn’t wake until 8am this morning.  The sun still hasn’t risen so it is quite easy to sleep a little longer.  A very chilled out morning, we face timed with Sarah and the children back home, and they all got to have a little chat with Theodore… He is quite chatty at the moment, and they loved hearing him make his cute theodorable baby noises.  This is making it harder for Sarah who hasn’t yet met Theodore in real life…..

Around lunch time we decided to head off to the Frederiksberg Centret

to do a spot of Christmas shopping and to also get me a nice warm coat as I really don’t have much in the way of warm clothes.

Heading out to go shopping.  Thankfully the temperatures are still around 8 degrees today

We had to walk a couple of blocks to catch the bus and we actually visited the same shopping centre that we visited a couple of years ago with Maria.  It is really a large shopping centre over a few levels.
Arriving at Frederiksberg Centret for our shopping expedition

Steve, Pete and Theo went off to check out a men’s store for Steve and Maria and I headed to Zikki’s, a larger size woman’s store.    They had a pretty big range of jackets and I tried on several.  In the end it was a choice between the jacket I got and a black and white woolen coat.  I decided on the khaki jacket with it’s fur lined hood as it was lined with wool inside and it was also wind resistant which the black and white one wasn’t.  It wasn’t cheap, just over $200 but it definitely is nice and warm and it is very cold over here.

After buying my coat, we went and checked out one that Steve had found but as it was $400 decided not to get it just yet as he could borrow one of Peters.  We thought it best to try and find something cheaper or come back after Christmas and see if it was on sale.

We parted ways with the boys after this and Maria and I went shopping for Christmas presents for her sisters and her nephew whilst the boys went off in search of SiM cards for our phone.

The shopping centre was beautifully decorated for Christmas with lots of live entertainment.  They were even singing Christmas carols in English which made us feel very much at home…

It was really very warm in the shopping centre and you really did feel like peeling off all your layers..  We probably spent about three hours shopping before heading home on the bus.
The rest of the afternoon we just chilled out at home.  Peter decided to cook us a marvelous vegetarian curry for dinner that night and we enjoyed eating it with flatbread.  He cooked enough so that we could have it for dinner the following night as well.

We were feeling a little more human tonight so sat up chatting a little later and ended up going to bed around 11pm.

Tomorrow, the weather forecast is for a sunny day, so we intend to head out and do a bit of exploring….
