OFF TO SOUTHBANK FOR MORE BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS.....

As Willow and I have a birthday only 9 days apart and as our family will not be around for my birthday we decided to combine celebrations and celebration both mine and Willow's birthday's at Southbank.

My good friend Kathy joined us also....

I had spent the day with Dan and Chloe as we had been out house hunting with them.  They are keen to buy their first house... and Kathy joined me at their place and then we went in to Southbank with Dan and Chloe.  Sarah and Colin and the children met us in there..

Beautiful Southbank - Brisbane

 Southbank is a credit to the Brisbane City Council,  it is such a great place for families and tourists to gather. Whilst we were wandering around, we came across this set up for a special picnic.  Obviously it was set up by and Events company.  What a great idea... it looked really lovely and what a great idea to be able to treat someone for a special ocassion...

 After having a good look around, we decided to head over towards the playground in the hope of finding somewhere where we could set up for a BBQ for dinner...

It was lovely to just sit by the river and watch all the catamarans and boats glide down the river...
One visit to Brissie in the near future will see me catch one of these vessels and just spend the day sailing up and down the river enjoying the views....

 We had initially thought we would have a swim but by the time we all got in there it was after 4pm.  Max bought his balance bike in and Willow had her new roller blades and they had a lot of fun riding and skating around...

 The kids had a ball on their rollerblades and bike.  So good to be out in the fresh air and sunshine...

We had a BBQ for dinner and then Willow and I shared a Birthday Cake so had candles to blow out together....

 After dinner, the kids had a bit more of a play.  Max amused himself by riding around the little concrete track through the park, whilst Willow played with some of her birthday presents she had bought with her..

 As the kids had had an early start to the day the previous couple of days and a bit of a late night the night of Willow's birthday,  Sarah didn't want to drag the evening out.  She was keen to get the kids home for an early night...
Still Willow and I needed to blow out our candles and cut our Birthday Cake...

 Once the cake was cut and eaten, it was time to pack up and head home... Southbank is beautiful at night all lit up...

 Whilst Sarah and Colin were keen to get the kids home and to bed,  Kathy and I were not in as much of a hurry... Dan and Chloe invited us to stay at their place for a game of "Five Crowns" so play we did....

It is a great game... we all enjoy playing games, so we ended up having a great evening and it was after 9pm before we left to head home...

Lovely birthday memories of a great day in Brissie spending time with those people I love the best......
