A VERY COLD SNAP IN COPENHAGEN THIS YEAR...
The temperatures in Copenhagen have been brutal the last week or so, with temperatures down to -10C across most of Denmark and that is not the end of the cold.
They've had 8 consecutive days of ice days.... this means that in a 24 hour period the thermometer does not rise above zero... During this period in Copenhagen, the temperatures reached as low as -5 during the day and minus double digits during the night.
With the exception of the Beast from the East in late February/early March 2018, Denmark hasn’t had weather as cold as this since the back-to-back snow-fests of 2009-10 and 2010-11.
They had a 15cm drop of snow overnight and Pete bought in a plate of snow for Theo for breakfast....
He was trying to eat it with his muesli, and was super keen to get outside and play in it....
They had no complaints from him getting dressed this morning... In fact they couldn't get him dressed quick enough...
Not only did they get a good fall of snow, the lakes have all iced over too, so they were able to go for a walk and skate on the ice....
It was a winter wonderland outside, in their courtyard and Banana Park behind them...
Once they were dressed it was time to go outside and build that snowman..
What a wonderfully exciting day for the children.... So wish we could have been there to enjoy it with them.
The lakes in Copenhagen have frozen over for the first time in about three years. Theo enjoy slipping around on the ice...
I wonder if there will be much more snow this winter...
