TABLES OF 8
Several times a year, our church organises and evening entitled "Tables of 8" where folk at church put their name of a piece of paper and then a couple of woman in our church then nominate where each of those folk will go.
It's a lovely way of mixing up folk so that we get to know each other a little more... Normally they would mix, married couples, singles, and young families so that there would be a wide variety of folk getting together..
Friday and Saturday nights was the first of these such nights this year and we were booked to go to the Gunter's on Saturday night...
Sherrilyn was the host so she then contacts all those coming to her place to give them a list of things or foods that we could bring to her place.
I was booked to bring a pumpkin and fig salad, along with a Mediterranean salad. We were having cold meat and salad, with guests designated to bring chicken and cold meats, along with salads. Others were bringing deserts. We had cheesecake and apple pie served with ice cream, so it was a really wonderful night...
We actually had 14 for dinner at the Gunter's place which normally would be a few too many, but we had such a great night.
This was the first time that Sherilyn has hosted and she did an amazing job... She is a wonderful host and made us all feel very welcome. even supplied a birthday cake for little Sophie who had turned 3 on the day...
