DAY 3 - EASTER AT TANNUM SANDS 2021....
A day of catching up with everyone today. People were assembling under the tarp to play games, just chat and mingle with each other... Being good Friday, there are no shops open today...
The kids were keen to go out fishing in the boat with Poppy, so Sarah and the children put their hands up to go out in the boat with Steve to check the crab pots today. I am taking it a little easy as my back is quite sore again, I am not sure what I am doing as this is the worst my back has been for many years..
Our set up.. |
The Studderts were set up behind us... this worked well in all of our favours as their children are similiar in age to Max so the kids had a constant stream of little friends to play with and socialize with...
We had another wonderful day of good weather. Gentle breeze, sun shining and the crab pots needed checking. Sarah and the children were keen to go out with Steve to check the pots and also do a spot of fishing...
Sarah has had a lot of luck fishing at Tannum Sands and more than once she has caught a massive black lip blubber bream and I think she was really hoping to repeat this again this year...Unfortunately it was not to be this year. It seemed that there weren't too many fish around, and the only person who caught any was Willow... She seems to have a real knack for hooking fish and reeling them in....They did manage to pick up a couple of crabs out of the pots. This is good news and looks promising for a feed of crabs for Easter.
Whilst these guys were out fishing, Colin went for a nice long walk along the Esplanade and I joined lots of the others from church under the big tarp where we spent the afternoon chatting and playing cards.
We all celebrated Robs birthday after dinner that night with a chocolate Mud cake (his favourite) as it was his birthday on 1st April.
It's been a great day. Looking forward to getting up and doing it all again tomorrow...
