DAY 4 - EASTER AT TANNUM SANDS 2021....
Like all our Easters spent at Tannum, the ladies all like to go out for a coffee together on the Saturday morning... We nearly always need to do some shopping to stock up our cupboards as well.
This year was no different, we all met up at 9.30am and headed to the nearest McDonalds for a coffee and snack. The only different was this year, we all had to wear face masks.

Once morning tea was over, it was off to the shops to stock up on more food, pick up a heap of hot cross buns which we were having all together for Morning Tea for Easter Sunday. Right next to the Woolies supermarket there was a Miller's store which also stocked clothes from Rothmans, W Lane, and Be Me and they had a huge sale on with most clothes between $10 and $20, so I think all of us ladies hit the shop and I also think there were very few women who left without at least buying something.
Colin and Sarah had taken off a little earlier this morning for their own breakfast date and they were then heading into Gladstone to pick up the Easter Eggs that they needed for a Easter Bunny surprise for the kids for the following morning. Rather than try and travel with chocolate eggs and risk that breaking or melting, they decided to wait until they got to Tannum before getting some. This year eggs were in short supply and they found it very hard to find eggs for the children. They finally managed to get a couple but they were pretty large...
Meanwhile whilst we were all off shopping, Steve had taken Reuben and Lauren Vanderduys out fishing with him to check the crab pots and do a spot of fishing...
The afternoon for the rest of us was just spent sitting around and chilling out and catching up socially with everyone...
The weather wasn't as good today, although no rain it was quite overcast... The weather predictions for the following day though, was for quite a bit of rain, so when Ann and I got together to put our Easter Baskets together for all the families that were camping with us, we decided to deliver them to everyone's cabins or caravans, late Saturday night rather than really early Sunday morning, in case it was raining. It would have made it very difficult to get around the park with our trolley of Easter baskets in the rain.

At our March Encouragement Meeting we were looking for ways to encourage members from our church and this was one of the suggestions we came up with along with serving hot cross buns for morning tea after our Sunday morning get together.
We wanted it to be a surprise, and it really was, we tied them to door handles, hid them in chairs and made sure that as everyone woke the following morning there was a little basket of goodies for them...

Everyone seemed to appreciate this little act of kindness, and for some, it was the first time the Easter Bunny had been to them for a very long time..
