DAN AND CHLOE'S WEEKEND AWAY..
Last Sunday afternoon we took the children for a visit to Aunty Chloe's. Dan and Chloe had a weekend away together at a farm stay at Valley Cabins by the Creek up around the Gympie area...
They wanted to get away somewhere where they could also take their puppy Mia and Chloe had come across these cabins near Imbil 50 acres with creek frontage to roamd and explore the natural surroundings of a working cattle farm.
Four lovely self contained cabins on the farm. |
There are four purpose built self-contained cabins set on the 50 secluded acres edged by Yabba Creek. The farm is just minutes away from the village of Imbil in the Mary Valley and being situated in the Sunshine Coast hinterland is less than a two hour drive north of Brisbane, only about 40 minutes north of Noose and about 25 minutes from Gympie so for them it was an ideal distance to get away for the weekend...
It is vert much a dog friendly getaway as each of the cabins has a fully fenced area for pets, although when around the farm and particularly the animals, it is appreciated if you keep your dog on a leash which really didn't bother Dan and Chloe
All the cabins have elevated covered verandahs which allow you to sit back and relax while taking in unobstructed views of Mt Kandanga in the West and Mt Touchekoi to the East and everything in between. The cabins are set high above the banks of Yabba Creek and Dan and Chloe were able to wander around the property as they wished. There was plenty of bird life and other wild life around to enjoy as well as being able to interact with the gentle resident cattle.
Koalas and platypus in the creek can be spotted along with some wild red deer.
Lovely views looking out to Mt Kandanga & Mt Touchekoi... |
The cabins are all quite modern with stylish furnishings for comfort and relaxation their primely goal. They all feature queen size beds as well as being air conditioned. All the cabins are supplied with bed linen, bath and hand towels, bathmats and tea towels, requiring you only to bring the clothes you need and food for your weekend.
All the cabins have been designed and constructed with communal areas with guests' comfort in mind and are all eco friendly with all cabins featuring rainwater harvesting systems and supply sanitised and UV filtered water to each of their cabins.
Each cabin also has undercover parking. The surrounds are peaceful and your only alarm clock will be the birds. Open fire pits are provided for you to chill out around on the cool Mary Valley Autumn and Winter evenings. In short, everything has been thought of with their guests comfort in mind...
Dan and Chloe made the most of their surroundings spending the whole weekend just exploring the farm and the creek. They had canoes for the guests to use. Mia enjoyed farm life and loved playing with the other dogs, getting up close and friendly to the cows and even enjoyed jumping into the creek...Mia went bounding into the water here. I am sure she had no idea there was water under these weeds. |
One puppy enjoying her weekend away.. |
It was such a good weekend for them away. They had to vacate at 10am Sunday morning which got them back into Brisbane just after lunch. They were both feeling pretty refreshed and ready to tackle the week ahead.
Dan decided to do a big cook up and prepare all their meals for the week.
They invited us over for dinner also. As Max and Willow were pretty excited to have us down with them, there was no way we were able to go visit Dan and Chloe without them tagging along. Sarah was also happy for us to take them for the afternoon so that she could get in and get some of her work done also...They love going to Uncle Dan and Aunty Chloe's also and enjoy playing in their back yard. It might have something to do with them having a fort and cubby for the kids to play in. Max had also taken his basketball over. He is obsessed with Basketball at the moment and is really keen on dribbling and shotting goals. He is getting quite good at it also...
Anyway he was keen to play ball with Poppy and they had a game of bouncing the ball to each other in Chloe's back yard. They had quite a bit of fun too..
I love these fun family afternoons out door. It was such a pleasant afternoon, and it was so good to all be back together again...
