HOT WATER SYSTEMS AND PLUMBING ISSUES..

We had to be up early this morning as the plumbers were coming to install our new hot water system.  They were right on time and we were very impressed at with their workmanship and efficiency in how they got the job done.  The old system was removed and the new one was fully installed within an hour and a half.

We have gone for a much bigger system this time, so we should never run out of hot water...

Our new hot water system

He's pretty happy with it..

At least we will be able to have a hot shower tonight.  Last night we had to boil the kettle and then have sponge bath from a bucket of hot water as we had no hot water and the weather was a little too cool to have a cold shower...

Steve spent the afternoon trimming trees and removing plants in readiness for the Solar installers to come in the following day to put Solar on our roof.  The area where the new meter was to go was heavily covered by tree branches so we needed to remove them.

We had a plant growing in this garden that I really wanted to keep, so Steve attempted to dig it out so that we could replant it elsewhere when his shovel hit a water pipe and we had water everywhere...

He then had to head out to get some parts to fix it.... Never rains but it pours...

He had to measure the pipe to find out what clamp he needed to make the join, as the shovel pretty much went through the pipe....
Quite a cut in the pipe...

Once he had fixed it, he then went to turn the tap on in our carport just to flush it out and then the tap wouldn't turn off so it needed to be replaced also...  Fortunately he had a spare tap out in the shed so was able to just change it over...

Time to seal it all up again and bury the pipe..

Fortunately he was able to fix it before evening and we were all ready to go for tomorrow when the Instyle Solar guys arrive...
