ANOTHER VISIT TO THE BANANA BENDERS PUB WITH OUR GOOD FRIENDS JOHN AND BARB...

A big photo share this post.   Have written about this place on a couple of previous occasions.

Even though our good friends John and Barb live on the Coast here, they have never been to the Banana Bender's Pub before, so of course, knowing how much Barb loves colour, it was one place I wanted to share with her...  I just knew she would love it...

The Banana Bender's Pub - Sunshine Coast

Once we got inside, it was time to check out all the amazing eye candy...

The lighting and chandeliers never cease to amaze me.  Some people are so creative and have the most wonderful imaginations..

This light totally amazes me - you could study it all day working out the equipment used to make it.

Check this out for a chandelier...  - all beer bottles

Every time we go there we notice something new and different.  There is just so much to take in.

Steve and Barb try their hand at a bit of fishing...

Steve's Mum has a collection of teaspoons like these on this wall.  They used to be all the go.  I am sure that they have been here every other visit but this was the first we have noticed them.  Possibly because the lights hanging about this stair case are amazing and have probably caught our attention previously.
Betsy the cow..

As it was well and truly lunch time by the time we arrived, and we were all a little hungry, we decided to go and order lunch first and then have a good look around afterwards.

Each of the tables are numbered by the pineapple system.  This appeared to me in particular because Yeppoon close to where we come from and where Barb grew up is known as the Pineapple capital of Queensland.

The Menu

Steve and I settled on "The Queenslander" and decided to share it.

John had the chicken Parmi

Barb had fish and chips

Steve and I shared "The Queenslander
The meal was still massive and we were unable to finish it between the two of us.  In fact we all went home with a doggy bags and were able to have the remains the following day..
We shared some sweet potato chips...

None of us realized how big our meals were.  We had ordered the sweet potato chips with our meal instead of the normal chips, and we had paid extra for this...  In the end they sent out the sweet potato chips and of course because they had sent normal chips out on our plate and they couldn't take them back...

After we had our lunch, we went for a walk throughout the building to take in all the eye candy...

Barb and I enjoying our time at the Banana Bender's Pub...

Before heading out to have a good look around the Pub, we headed for the toilets.  I hadn't been to these ones before.  On previous visits we have always used the toilets on the ground floor, this time we visited the ones up on the top floor where the restaurant is and were quite impressed with the decor in there.

They were very different to the ones on the ground floor, with the hand basins being made out of timber...

Lights were a little like pineapples... at least that is what they reminded us of...

Some of the fishy wall decorations

Have never seen timber hand basins before

Barb washing her hands in a wooden hand basin.

Steve checked out the men's toilets also...
Whilst we waited for the men, Barb and I checked out all the decor around the bar.    It was all quite eclectic and there were things put together that you would never think of teaming them together, but here they just worked some how...

Queensland Pineapplers....

Then we had the flamingos...  They were perched up on the bar....

We even had Jabaroos

Got to love the straw holders....

Now these are some glasses...
From here it was upstairs to the Music Display Mezzanine floor.   I know the first time we cast eyes on this adult lounge, we were pretty impressed.  There are so many EP's and LP's that we were able to cast our eyes over and reminisce of days gone by when we actually listed to most of these artists.

Relaxing upstairs.

One of the lights upstairs.

You have got to love this for a ceiling fan..

Many of these LP's & EP's we listened to when we were in our teen years.

Very familiar artist we listened to...

The other light in the Music lounge.

From here we headed across to the other Mezzanine floor on the other side of the building which housed all the caricature art.  I always love checking these out as we endeavour to work out just who each person is.   Each time we come, we are able to work out a few more of the characters.

Another of the amazing lights at the Banana Bender's Pub

We spent a few minutes taking in the views of the highway before heading back downstairs...

The new Banana bending machine is new since we last visited, so we all had a turn at bending the banana...

There was more wonderful eye candy down stairs around the verandah, so we wandered around checking it all out....

From the side verandah we headed into the bar area where there were spots and garage displays.  Again the light fittings were unique with car lights and plumbing pipes made to hold lights...

The Boomerang Bar...

More amazing lights...

We haven't checked out the gaming room previously, so thought we would step in and have a look around.  There was quite a bit of sports memorabilia in this area...

Barb was pretty impressed with all these wonderfully colourful chairs out on the front verandah...

It was pretty good to share this experience with good friends.  I do love coming here and it is good to come with others that appreciate it also...  From here we wandered down through the shops checking them out...  Each time we come, we see different things.  Often we stop and have an ice cream but not today.  We were all still very full from our lunch, so we just browsed in the shops instead.

We went a lot further down the row of shops than we have previously been and came across the most beautiful sweets shoppe.  All their fudge is home made and they had so many different varieties.  The shop was all decked out for Christmas and looked just beautiful.

We also decided to treat ourselves to some of their fudge and take home for after dinner drinks for later.

beautifully decorated for Christmas

They had all sorts of amazing chocolates and fudges on sale and we could easily have been tempted to over indulge...

Loved this reindeer chocolate... could have been so tempted to buy some...

Just a WOW Sweets tree

And they had lolli-pops galore
They even had a lovely range of jams, chutney's and jellies for sale.
How good does this look....

Loved these Christmas decorations

It was a lovely day out.  We so needed this day, as we have been very busy getting jobs done since we have been down here.  We need to learn to pace ourselves so that even when we are down here, we need to make time to have fun and we have certainly done that this time.
Farewell Banana Bender's Pub until next time we have visitors to entertain on the Sunshine Coast....
