DAY 8 - QUIET DAY AT HOME AND BUILDING CUBBY HOUSES. Sunday 1st May, 2022

After a particularly busy week, today was just a chill down day.  It is the first weekend in Pete and Maria's new home that they have time just to enjoy their garden.  Last weekend was the weekend they moved in just before we arrived on the Monday so that weekend was spent unpacking boxes.

This weekend Maria is keen to get into the garden and we have just enjoyed spending time with our grandchildren.

Whilst Steve helped out in the garden, I spent most of the morning building cubby houses with blankets and cushions in the lounge room...

The afternoon was spent out in the yard. Steve decided to get the mower out and mow the lawn.  The mower was a bit of an unknown quanity as it came with the house, so today was the day to see if the mower was any good.  Steve was pretty impressed with it.  He had mown most of the lawn when Theo decided he wanted to help his Poppy mow, so Steve had to remow a section so that Theo could help also..

One of the other jobs they tackled was the garden and getting it ready for planting.  Maria was keen to get the potatoes in as soon as possible, so they both spent time getting the garden dug up and ready for planting.  They have been working on the garden for most of the week now...

All ready for planting...

Meanwhile I was happy to wander around the garden and just admire the beautiful Spring flowers.  The garden has really come alive in the week we have been here...

Maria wanted the boys to have a recovery day in preparation for them starting at their new daycare centre the following day.  Maria has now resigned from her old job, has this week off to settle the boys into their new daycare before starting at a new hospital the following week which is located a lot closer to home...

Hopefully this coming week might see us a little more confident on the roads now that we have driven into Copenhagen a couple of times and we might get out and explore a little more.
