DAY 41 - DENMARK ADVENTURE - LEAVING NORWAY, LONSTRUP BOUND... - Friday 3rd June, 2022...

 More to come....

DAY 41 – All good things must come to and end and sadly we leave Norway today. We have absolutely loved our time in this beautiful country… Just a few things about Norway that have really stood out to me this visit..

• This whole country is nothing but rock…

• Houses are built on rocks.

• We have not seen one house made of bricks. All homes are wooden.

• Tall trees grow on solid rocks.

• There are tunnels everywhere in Norway.

• Most houses are built near some sort of water, whether it be rivers, lakes or ocean.

• The scenery is stunning in Norway.

• There are wildflowers everywhere.

We couldn’t have asked for a nicer location for our accommodation in Norway, and it was very hard to leave this little piece of Paradise but time to keep moving. We had an early start this morning as we had just over an hours drive to get to Kristiansand where we were catching the ferry to Hirtshals back in Denmark. We needed to be on the road by 6am as we had to be at the terminal by 7.30am as our ferry was due to depart at 8am. We then had a two and a half hour crossing back to Hirtshals. From Hirthals, we had a 25 minute drive to Maria’s Mums place at Lonstrup where we were staying for the next few nights. We had been invited up to Lonstrup to attend Else-Marie’s partner Claus’s 60th Birthday celebrations… I am so glad we were getting to go back to Lonstrup as it really is a very gorgeous part of Denmark and it was great to be able to catch up with Maria’s family again. They really are our family in Denmark, they are so welcoming. We arrived at lunchtime. After lunch, Theo helped his Mormor finish mowing their huge lawn ready for the celebrations whilst the boys erected the huge marque for the party. It is great to be back.
